How to Extract Pages from a PDF on iPhone (Send Only Part of a Contract)

Last updated 2026-10-29 · Paperkeep Pro feature

Sometimes a bank or landlord asks for one page, not the whole 20-page agreement. Paperkeep Pro's “Extract Pages” builds a new document from the pages you tick, and the original contract keeps every page. To cut a file in two at one point, there's “Split” as well.

First, with iOS's built-in tools

  1. In the Files app, touch and hold the PDF and choose “Duplicate”.
  2. Open the copy and bring up the page thumbnails.
  3. Touch and hold each page you don't need and choose “Delete” until only the pages you want are left.
  4. It works, but the more pages you have to delete, the slower it gets.

With Paperkeep

  1. Open the contract in Paperkeep. If the PDF isn't in Paperkeep yet, bring it in with Import → “From Files”.
  2. Choose “Extract Pages” from the magic-wand “Tools” menu.
  3. Tap the pages that should go into the new document. The contract itself keeps all its pages.
  4. Tap the button at the bottom (for example “Extract 2 pages”). A new document whose title ends in “(pages)” appears in your list.
  5. Open it and send it with the share button, or use “Tools” → “Export…” to shrink it first.

Tips for this document

  • Sending only the signature page? Add the first page with the parties and date so it's clear which agreement was signed.
  • “Split” cuts a document in two after the page you choose and turns the rest into a new document, handy for separating the agreement from its attachments.
  • The extracted file is a separate PDF, so redactions or signatures you add there leave the original contract untouched.
